Managing Different Personality Types During Layoffs in Your Team

Every team is different, but overall there are common traits among individual that if you know as manager, help you navigate sensitive time/conversation.
Today, let’s go into different personality type in your team and what you can do to effectively manage them.
There are 4 different kind of personalities that you will be dealing with in your team during layoffs.
1. Apathetic ( aka Don’t care)
This is personality who is not affected mentally by news of layoff. Not worries about anything. Most of time, their focus is work and understand layoff is part of life and nothing they can control. Worry will not solve issue.
As manager, you are lucky to have as many people in your team with this mentality.
Tip : You don’t need to spend much time on 1:1 with these individual during layoff.
Typically you will find 0-20% of your team fall into this category.
